PREVIOUS RESEARCH
My previous research investigated the impact of alien plant invasion on the community composition of wet native forests and implications on the Mauritian flying fox.
I also contributed to another study which involved investigating the impact of alien plant invasion on the foraging habitat quality of the Mauritian flying fox and asses the importance of those forests in terms of foraging opportunities for the bats.
Aerial and ground photo of adjacent wet native forest on Mauritius showing invasion by alien plants (right), mainly strawberry guava, and weeded of the invasive plants (left).
I also did observational study to document the feeding behavior versatility of the Mauritian flying fox, more specifically seawater ingestion by the bats.
